Carved Stone Fordham University Seal

Petrillo Stone Corporation has a long history of working with Fordham University. Our relationship dates back 1935 when our founder, and my grandfather, Antonio T. Petrillo completed stone work for the school. We recently have been working on stone carvings to be used at the new Fordham Law School building. Pictured below is one of three stone cravings of the seal we are creating for the school. This craving on the seal is fabricated from Indiana Limestone. Another one will be made from Indiana Limestone as well and a third seal will be fabricated from Moca Crème limestone from Portugal.

 

Hand Carved French Limestone Fountain

At Petrillo Stone we take pride in every job on which we work. Carving and cutting stone is both an engineering and artistic challenge we relish. Creating something unique out of a bare block of stone is always thrilling. We recently completed the beautiful French limestone fountain pictured below. This project took countless hours of craving by our skilled artisan craftsmen.

Petrillo Stone Workers at Lunch

Petrillo Stone Corporation employs stoneworkers and skilled craftsmen to complete our many projects. Located in Mount Vernon, New York our employee's cut and crave stone in our work shop for placement and setting later at the work site. All this hard work builds an appetite and a well deserved lunch break. Below are some of the workers taking a lunch break before getting back to the job at hand.

Work at Historic Corbin Building

The Corbin Building is a historical tower in Manhattan that was originally built in 1888-1889. Recently it was renovated as part of a MTA project. Petrillo Stone worked on the stone exterior including a sandstone arch that was carved by our master stone workers. It is always an honor and privilege to work on a building that has such historical and architectural significance. We at Petrillo Stone love returning a building to its original beauty.

Petrillo Stone completes work at 1290 Ave of the Americas

Petrillo Stone installed a marble wall and in the new lobby at 1290 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan. Read more at petrillostone.net

Benjamin Hotel Restoration

In 1999 the Denihan Hospitality Group purchased the Emery Roth-designed building in Midtown Manhattan on 50th Street and Lexington with the intention to turn it into a hotel. They hired Petrillo Stone Corporation to restore the stone exterior of the building which was built in 1927. Petrillo Stone used Indiana Limestone with a granite base and created custom carved window arches and moldings. The result is the a building that has been restored to its original style and is now know as the Benjamin Hotel.
